You know what? I think I had horse when I was in France for the first time. The meat was white and tasted nothing like what I had tasted up to that point (or since). I hate to admit it, but, it was really good. I'm still hoping it was just some wonderful French concoction that I can't get in America.

I don't recall eating any horse in France, unless some clever chef snuck it in to something else. No reason it should not be delicious, as well as low-fat and nutritious. My dad remembers it being available during the Depression. We are just not acculturated to see horses as food. I think I'd have a bigger problem with bushmeat – like monkey. {shivers}

As a previous horse owner and a lover of horses…I shudder to see the sign. I am quite glad we do not have any shoppes such as that….very disturbing!!!!

I can't imagine eating “that” but I have eaten some things that I just can't believe. The French really eat all parts of animals but I did not know about the above.

How did you eat the horse meat? Sandwich? In a roast? Perhaps fried up with breadcrumbs? I'm very curious!

Nope, doesn't taste like chicken. Who said that? Horse salami is quite nice. I guess I better shut up now.

Yikes, and I thought it was just a myth! The boyfriend told me his mom once picked up horse meat by mistake at the butchers..about 15 years ago! I guess the horse trade is still alive & well 🙂
