champagne saturdays

The Parisian must have been feeling pretty bad about last Saturday. You see, the Saturday after my birthday (last Saturday), he closed the bar early when I was supposed to be celebrating my birthday there with Le Villagers (he has the habit of closing the bar on a whim to go home and play Wii). I’m thinking he was feeling bad because this past Saturday night The Husband and I dropped in for a quiet drink and he asked us if we would like some Champagne to celebrate my birthday…. um, oui.

So the four of us shared a bottle (Mrs Parisian was there too) and it was perfect timing because as soon as we finished, Brother-in-Law, Child Bride, and Honey Jr arrived.  Which meant Leffes all around. Except for Child Bride. She had a large glass of milk with a pink straw (I don’t think La Petite would appreciate the Leffe… she’s due to make her debut into the world in a few weeks and is probably all about the milk).

But back to that Champagne. I have a sneaky suspicion that The Parisian had alterior motives for pouring me that Champagne (like it wasn’t all about me… shocking I know). Like maybe he was testing it out for next Saturday. Like next Saturday, as in  Brother-in-Law’s wedding reception next Saturday. That’s right. Wedding reception. Next Saturday. At Le Petit Bar.

It’s gonna be a doozy.

bisou

Seems your training with Champagne is going pretty well. You won't collapse after the 2nd bottle next saturday, haha. Huhe hug dear! Xo 🙂

  3. Awesome! I say we have a trade for a couple of weeks, just to try out each other's lives. Maybe you could just let me be a fly on the wall and share your champagne with me.

  4. Well, I've been drinking lots of Leffe Ruby with this baby, he/she loves it! (in moderation of course). I wish I owned a bar and could just buzz off whenever I liked. Sounds like an ideal occupation. I'm sure the reception will be a blast!

  8. Sara, you crack me up calling her Child Bride… LOL! Hey, I'm thinking, why not be the guinea pig for Champagne? And all the different ways you can have it! Why, you could've been there all night. Just give Child Bride her binky, put her to sleep on the bar… the possibilities are endless.

  16. Can I second that comment of crushing on your life? It seems perfect. Maybe Mr. A should take me to a foreign country and force me to live there. His family is descended from Lithuania, though. There is nothing there.http://glamkittenslitterbox.blogspot.com/Twitter: @GlamKitten88

  18. I'm keeping fingers crossed Child Bride doesn't steal the spotlight and go into labor during the reception next weekend. One of the joys of NOT being prego… the ability to drink, wear cute clothes and heels, and dance the night away at Le Parisien's bar. Cheers!

  31. A cute little bar in a cute little French town where they give you free champagne sounds quite nice. Almost as nice as the Celtic Cajun bar and grill by my house. Not quite though because how do you beat that duo that I know I always think go hand in hand. Irish whiskey with an order of jambalaya? Sorry, I guess I shouldn't be trying to make you and your romantic French life jealous….
