they do things a little differently

who: The Parisian and The Husband
what: BBQing
where: Chez Brother-in-Law
when: a couple of Thursdays ago
why: ? ? ?

I can kind of understand The Parisian’s use of the rake (allow me to reiterate…  I can KIND OF understand, but I don’t really), but why The Husband is wielding an ax is beyond me.

  6. As I always do while in Europe, when things are just too “different” or strange to wrap my North American head around, I always just mutter something like…”Europe is beyond lame” and Husband says, “what did you say?” …and I'll exclaim “Europe is amazing, let's stay!”To which of course he looks at me like I'm totally wackadoodle. They do indeed do things their “own way”….

  8. Maybe instead of butchering meat first, they just give the animal a little too much to drink, let it pass out, and then throw it on the grill. The husband has the axe on hand in case it comes to.

  11. Hahaha classic! The French are very different. Why anyone would ever need an ax is beyond me… maybe to cut the logs?

  14. The ax is obviously for relatives who ask too many questions :-). This is my first visit to your site and I've spent some time browsing through your earlier posts. I'm so glad I did that. You've created a wonderful spot for your readers to enjoy. I know I certainly enjoyed my visit here and plan to return. I hope you have a great day. Blessings…Mary

  27. I believe the proper caption should be Vendredi Treize, Le Barbecue (Friday the 13th, the Barbecue). The axe sure gives me a picture of a horror movie. Hilarious though
