The Royal Wedding at Chez Moi

The wedding of the century did not go unnoticed here in Le Petit Village. Well, it didn’t go unnoticed at Chez Moi anyway. I’m not sure if the rest of the village cared much. But it’s OK, Fifty and I made up for their lack of excitement in style… B E H O L D… my very own Prince Charming…

{I hate my mom}

And I put on my English garden finest…

{I’m a laaaaaady}

Sorry for the self-portrait. Fifty’s lack of thumbs makes him a horrible photographer (although we are trying). But do you notice I’m curtsying? Or, better yet, do you notice I’m trying to curtsy? (Not easy curtsying and self-portraiting at the same time… I’m sure Kate never had this problem). I thought it was appropriate since I had a Prince in the house. But now Prince Fifty expects me to curtsy whenever he walks into the room and I really don’t have that kind of time.

  1. I'm glad you and Prince Fifty enjoyed the royal nuptials in your own creative way. I love your imagination, it keeps us entertained.

  2. I really appreciate your dedication shown via foil crown and one handed curtsy. You totally deserved an invite to the real deal.

  3. Great dress! Regal crown 🙂 I'm sure you would have both been welcomed with open arms in the Abbey dressed like that. Actually, no bare shoulders allowed…Fifty would have had to go it alone!

  4. I find it hard enough to balance in heels when I'm taking my own pic and looking in the mirror but curtseying has taken it to a new level. I think this might start a trend!

  7. Wonderful dress. You may wish to rethink not having that kind of time to curtsy. Fifty has sort of a “off with her head” look on his face!

  8. That dress is pretty and the curtseying takes it to a whole other level of dedication. Fifty's crown is hilarious. He looks ready to abdicate the throne!

  9. I rather like the ambiance of that photo. I was of course enjoying every second too, with a small union jack in one hand and a thermos flask of tea in the other!

  21. It's interesting to see how different people celebrated the royal wedding. Me, I slept through it and then flicked through some pictures later online. My friend got dressed up and went out for tea. Your curtsying while taking a self portrait skills are impressive though! One of these days dogs will learn to do these things without thumbs. My German Shepard is working on learning to drive. No success thus far, but he loves to watch the key turn to start the car.

  32. Fantastic dress! While I was NOT up at the crack of dawn to watch the nuptials (I believe it was 4:30 here in the States?) I was curious for a glimpse of her gown. Kudos to Kate for having Sara Burton from the House of McQueen design her gown. It was beautiful! However, Fifty's crown is so much more tasteful!

  33. LOL You're too cute! I so wanted to host a wedding all-nighter party with my girlfriends, but 4am on a weekday seemed a little ridiculous to me. Instead I slept through it and watched videos at work that morning. Oh well. I'm glad YOU got to celebrate. 🙂
