You're still drinking white? When is your cut off day to switch to red? Mine is mid-September and now it's all sorts of heavy Bordeaux and Bourgognes! Miam,Are Christmas decorations starting to creep in by you? They are here! And “A bottle of Cairrane, fois gras, and a steak swimming in a creamy morel mushroom sauce and served on a puff pastry bun..” Ah, La France. Amazing.Bon week-end! xo.

This was the end of September, my last weekend with white (except for when I made the tartiflette). I'm all about my Bordeaux now.

Everything looks beautiful and delicious and I am so moving into the House of Wine with you. Except after about three months it would just be the House of Empty Barrels, I fear.

Foxy red pants! I would like to move into the house of Loire wines, they still have my undivided loyalty 🙂 (Well, a little bit divided with Champagne!)

Ugh, so jealous of these little jaunts to nice places with beautiful weather and good food. Please send a little of all of that out east, OK?!

As Samantha said, a little sniff would tell you the difference between the Sancerre and Bourgogne Blanc as they are distinctly different. Lucky for you, the color as you can see from your picture shows you another way to tell them apart. The Sancerre wine on the left is made from Sauvignon Blanc grapes and probably was vinified only in stainless steel tanks so the wine didn't pick up any color from oak tanks. The Bourgogne Blanc wine was made from Chardonnay grapes and was partially or totally vinified in oak barrels which imparted some color to the wine.

Absolutely LOVE Avignon!! I'm from Antibes and when I was a teen I took the train over twice for lunch and a day spent wandering the streets. Such a gorgeous place!!
