Sounds like coke would have been the better option. At least you contributed to the vinegar jar! We have a Raclettegrill set at the back of a cupboard. I must get it out – you have reminded me!

Pahahahaha that wine moment sounds like gold. Turning lemons into lemonade…. or bad wine into vinegar.

Ha. Yeah, i learned that lesson too. Now I try to always keep at least three bottles of generally good, all purpose wine on the top shelf of our wine rack, to grab in case we need one unexpectedly.

Your raclette party sounds like a lot of fun. We have had several raclettes here in Northern CA this year but can't wait to have one in front of the fireplace next month in Sablet.

But surely everyone was too full of cheese and joy-because-of-cheese to care too much? Well, they let you marry him anyway, so it didn't matter so much!

I LOVE Raclette! I was introduced to it in Germany (didn't have it once in France!) and I simply LOVE it. Can you tell? 😉 I haven't captured any of my racletting yet either!

Haha, fantastic story! In Germany we always got a bottle of wine as well when we ordered 3+ pizzas. I think we only used that stuff for cooking but I would have chosen coke if somebody would have given me the choice. And I love Raclette. It is a meal which vegans and non-vegans can eat together. 🙂

That just made me want to eat a raclette, just have to find the cheese now… ( hard task in Ireland!)

I love Raclette, too. We like to do it on special occasions in Germany, like birthdays and New Year's Eve, some do it on Christmas even.I can imagine how embarrassing this moment must have been…but those are the best stories to tell later, right? 😀
