Creamy pasta, sauvignon blanc and a cosy night in sounds just fine to me but there is something special about a French barbecue which I remember well from when I lived in France. Toulouse sausages, merguez and amazing cheese followed by a game or two of pรฉtanque – happy memories. However, I don't miss andouillettes barbecued or cooked any other way!http://missbbobochic.blogspot.co.uk/

Is it in French men's DNA that they look good in shorts & t-shirts? As opposed to most British men…

Don't go down this road (what I was doing last year….) it will crush you! Seriously. I had such bad France withdrawals last year, it brought tears to my eyes to remember what I'd been up the year before. And watching the Tour de France, arrrrhhhgh, painful. Sniff. x x x

I think I would prefer to spend my weekend in France or Buenos Aires … than here in NY .. I think we were gone too long. I don't feel at home here.On the other hand … I didn't get to play petanque or have a BBQ with any honeys .. so that might just be the problem. besos, C

I have never understood the petanque thing either! Your posts make me howl. 'Make sure the husband spends time with his husband' – ha ha ha! Love it!

The weather is definitely barbecue weather here! Yesterday the smell of barbecuing sardines wafted over the fence into my garden some time after we'd finished eating our fragrance-free (as far as the neighbours were concerned) salad and cheese lunch! Thank goodness they don't take long to cook!

So glad your cousin is on the mend & home again. Step 4 – is it just me or does the guy in the blue shirt & sunglasses look just like John Terry?

I must say in my year in France we never played pรฉtanque, but all the other steps look quite familiar!
